POETRY – RHYME


T.V. Guide:

Working mothers, in single parent families,
Leave children unguided, in unbalanced unit.
Soap-box guru, fills archetypal anomaly,
Living other people’s dreams, a cartoon bandit.

Freedom in society, individual expression,
Anti-establishment, iconoclastic reaction.
Rudderless children, in vortex depression,
Sacrificial lambs, in value rejection.

No paternal influence, or voice from above,
Nor positive school line, playground street cult.
Information technology, the New Age love,
Books are antiquated, philosophy adult.

Alone with the box, as a latch key kid,
Computer companions, for teaching & games.
For lessons in life, a TV Ovid,
Whose pearls of wisdom, are fatuous claims.
