Cycle of History Today:

Ancient Cypriot history, melting pot of the East,
Larnaca ancient Kitium, Phoenicia of yesteryear.
Paphian hilltop Droushia, Syrian community before,
Agapinor founded Paphos, shipwrecked coming from Troy.

Vassals of ancient Cypriot culture, middle eastern historical kaleidoscope,
Of Assyrian and Egyptian, all conquering empires.
And Minoan, Greek Mycenean and Hellenic dominance,
Plus Phoenician and Pelasgian explorers, master sailors of all antiquity.

Kolossi castle Templars, European crusader knights,
Ottoman Turkish invaders, echoes in latterday division.
Colonial British rule, visible in all administration,
All indelible marks, of mankind’s incessant struggle.

Ananda Marga in Cyprus, Neo-humanistic philosophy in action,
Annual sectorial conference, Cyprus hosting united brothers.
Middle Eastern congregation, meetings at the crossroads,
Of the eastern and western philosophers, continents, cultures and religions.

So here I see a circle, returning brothers in embracing unity,
To this ancient historical crossroads, a post colonial hotspot.
So a warm and hearty, welcome, to our brothers here in Cyprus,
Microcosmic peace as an example, to all our worldwide brethren.
