POETRY – RHYME

Paphos:

Paphos and peace, a time for reflection,
Momentary release and parried deflection.
Comes the lunar tide, I wait in contemplation,
Another rough ride, prepared reservation.

A new base here, in scenic isolation,
A constant breeze and daily revelation.
In midsummer heat, a brisk walk from the sea,
No mosquitoes, but ants and music for me.

Some time before, our school preparation,
For study, analysis and lone separation.
Commitment now sure, today is the day,
My belongings from England, arrive in the bay.

Possessions of life, again to behold,
Stores and cassettes, records and drums.
Videos and books, comforts to enfold,
Music and study, fingers and thumbs.
