POETRY - RHYME


E.E.C. Blanket:

The smotherer of fire, unifier of division,
Resolver of conflicts, in historical revision.
By pooling resources, for equal common goals,
Ancient antagonisms become knowledgeable roles.

Unitary purpose and economic union,
European equality, voice for the minion.
Peace for Ireland now, northern catholic vote,
Only hope for Cyprus, is to board the union boat.

In obstructing Turkish, new expansionist plan,
In guise of protector, of minority clan.
Millennium melter, of iron curtain line,
But the Balkan conflict, is a time ticking mine.

Antiquated doctrine, Serbian nationalism,
Lesson of the past, domineering chauvinism.
For men are brothers, of the human race,
United in life, no matter what the face.
